Garment Care Chain Teams Up with The Salvation Army of Central Maryland, Mix 106.5 and Today’s 101.9 to Host “Tools 4 Schools” Drive at 20 Locations Throughout Metro Baltimore
SAVAGE, Md. (August 13, 2024) – The bells will soon be ringing once again as Maryland students reluctantly swap summer swimsuits for school attire and return to the classroom later this month. And thanks to ZIPS Cleaners, The Salvation Army of Central Maryland and Audacy Inc. stations Mix 106.5 and Today’s 101.9, their backpacks will be filled with the supplies they need to thrive throughout the coming school year. Once again, the three organizations are teaming up to host a “Tools 4 Schools” supply drive at ZIPS locations, collecting educational necessities for kids throughout the Baltimore Metro Area.
Last year, 19 participating ZIPS Cleaners locations throughout Maryland hosted the Tools 4 Schools drive and successfully equipped students with more than 4,000 crayons, nearly 2,300 pencils, over 600 spiral notebooks, plus piles of other supplies. This year, 20 ZIPS stores will serve as collection points where generous neighbors can drop off new items for needy students, helping them head into their academic endeavors without the stigma or stress of “going without.” Most needed are loose leaf paper, composition notebooks, pencils, erasers, backpacks (brand new), glue, crayons, binders, child-safe scissors, erasers, pen/pencil pouches, rulers and calculators. New school clothing will also be accepted.
