A new ZIPS Cleaners franchise is expected to open later this year on a date yet to be determined in Manheim Township’s Chelsea Square shopping center, the company announced this week.

ZIPS is a laundry service offering dry cleaning, alterations, cleaning of linens and household items, wash and fold and pressed laundry services. The company advertises same-day dry cleaning, flat pricing for all garment types, and 24-hour drop off at most of its stores.

The new location at 1631 Manheim Pike will be the only one in Lancaster County. Another ZIPS location on Columbia Avenue in East Hempfield Township closed during the pandemic after a decade in operation.

The new store’s owners and managers, Leda Peterson and Diego Osorio, are co-owners of a ZIPS store in York County, along with an investor group that includes Peterson’s ex-husband and her daughter, who is married to Osorio.

“I love it. It’s the perfect partnership,” Peterson was quoted as saying in a statement from ZIPS. “It’s good to have someone you know you can trust as a partner.”
