Your Clothes. Their Future.

ZIPS Dry Cleaners and area Goodwill Chapters are renewing their successful partnership for an area wide clothing drive during the month of September. Last year ZIPS collected 14,000+ garments and our goal for 2012 is to surpass 20,000.

The Will2Work clothing drive was started by ZIPS Dry Cleaners in 2008, and each year has successully increased the number of garments cleaned and donated to Goodwill. These donated garments provide disadvantaged adults looking to re-enter the workforce with access to professional attire from Goodwill Stores. Goodwill and affiliated Social Service agencies provide vouchers for clients to 'shop' for appropriate clothing for interviews and ongoing employment.

"One of the biggest barriers to employment for people with a disadvantage is the lack of profession attire to wear to a job interview," said Brendan Hurley, Chief Marketing Officer for Goodwill of Greater Washington. "The partnership between ZIPS and Goodwill will give hundreds of people in our communities access to clothing that will help secure and maintain employment."

Throughout the month of September, 34 ZIPS' stores in Maryland, Virginia, DC and Pennsylvania* regions are serving as a drop off locations for free donation cleaning.
